Impossible Places

Impossible Places is a body of work where the foreground and background shift in dialogue, and the landscape becomes an elusive, shifting space defined by a horizon line in flux. In my art practice, I explore the interplay of pitch, tonality, and hue, drawing from over a century of cross-modal research and a Bauhaus-inspired aesthetic. Through relief assemblages, I create layered compositions that blur the boundaries between abstraction and landscape, where familiar shapes emerge like echoes of musical form. I’m fascinated by the parallels between sound and vision. These include, lightness and quietness, gradients and harmony, brightness and loudness—crafting a sensory dialogue between the two.
