These painterly expressions of sound onto canvas have a direct reference to Kandinski’s theories of correlation in his essay ‘On The Spiritual in Art’. As an artist I’m constantly intrigued by how sound translates directly into colour, texture, composition and tone. My paintings have titles referring to music terminology such as note types, music keys, classical music terms such as Andante, Allegro, or Adagio. One painting may explore the classical tempo/movement within a musical score eg: Adagio/Allegro/Vivace.
