Life Drawing Classes. On the First Thursday of the Month from 6:30 to 9:00pm

Life drawing is the time-honoured tradition of art education. However, all skill levels are welcome to join our class. If you havn't drawn from life before and don't know what to expect? No need to be shy if you want to have a go - we are here to guide you through the experience. If you would like to be tutored through the class select the tutored rate, and we can guide your drawing throughout the night.

Life drawing is studying the human form and the class is informative, fun, relaxed, and very rewarding.

Each month we invite a model (female/male) to pose for us to draw for 2.5 hours. Please arrive at 6:15 for a 6:30 start. The session concludes at 9pm.

1. First 45 minutes: 1-5 minute warm poses
2. 10 minutes poses until the break
3. 15-minute break
4. The remainder of the time (1 hour approx,) is devoted to extended long poses so you can create more completed drawings. 

MATERIALS: Unless you have selected the tutored rate, please bring your own drawing materials. eg: Charcoal sticks or pencils, graphite pencils (2B-8B). We recommend to either to draw in a sketchbook (A4/A3) and if you'd like to work on larger paper bring A2 or A1 sheets of cartridge paper, or a cartridge paper book. If you don't want to spend that much on materials, butchers paper is great to draw on with charcoal. Here is a recommended list of materials.  The studio has drawing boards, tables, and easels for your use.

COVID-19 considerations about space & social distancing. We have space in the studio for up to 8 people, considering the current distance restrictions of 1-5 metres per person. In the studio you have a choice to use a table, easel, or sit on a chair/stool with your sketchbooks.
